Know Before You Go – IFNC17 in Perth!

We’re so excited to welcome you to the 17th International Family Nursing Conference: Promoting Family Strengths Globally in Challenging Times — taking place June 17–20, 2025, in Perth, Australia!

Please review the important information below to help you prepare for a meaningful and enjoyable conference experience. Set your schedule and plan to make the most of your time with us!

Everyone is encouraged to attend the business meeting. In addition, committee meetings are scheduled throughout the conference, and all are welcome to attend these meetings as well.

Conference Registration & Check-In

  • Tuesday, June 17: 8:00 a.m. – 9:00 a.m.
  • Wednesday, June 18: Starting at 8:00 a.m.

Location of Conference Registration – In the Grand Ballroom Foyer

If you are a session moderator, please be sure to let us know when you are checking in for the conference at the registration desk.

Debbie Zaparoni, Jennifer Cox and Tricia Long will be on site at the registration desk during the Conference. We have spoken or emailed with many of you, and we are looking forward to seeing you in person. We all have installed WhatsApp on our phones, here are our numbers if you need to contact us:

Crown Perth offers a variety of parking options, including free, paid, and valet.

To ensure you are parking closest to the Conference Venue for the day of events, please use parking structure P6 for free, easy access.
Public transport is available nearby, and taxis are accessible at the Riverside Entrance.

Prepare for the Australian Weather

Coastal Cities: Sydney and Perth have relatively mild winters, with daytime highs around 18°C (65°F). However, expect some showers in Sydney and Perth, as these cities tend to have their heaviest rainfall in June. 

Average temperatures in Perth: High of 19.5°C (67°F), Low of 10.5°C (51°F)

Prepare for the Meeting Room Temperatures

Meeting room temperatures can vary. We recommend bringing a light jacket or sweater for your comfort.

To honor our efforts in sustainability, we encourage you to bring your own water bottle for use during the conference.

Video Recordings & Photographs

There will be photographs taken specifically for the conference by attendees and staff.  If you are concerned about your photo being shared, please be cognizant of your surroundings, where you sit in the rooms, and of pictures being taken.

Continuing Medical Education Credits

*For attendees from the U.S., this activity has been approved by the Ohio Nurses Association to award contact hours. The Ohio Nurses Association is an Ohio Board of Nursing approver of nursing continuing education. (OBN-001-91). An evaluation specific to this will be sent after the conference.

Instructions for Accessing the Oxford Program

If you do not already have an account with Oxford Abstracts, you may create one for free with the following steps:

  1. Click https://virtual.oxfordabstracts.com/#/e/IFNC17/program
  2. Click “Sign up to Oxford Abstracts” at the bottom of the page
  3. Enter your name and email, and create a password
  4. Check your email and click the verification link to activate your account
  5. Go back to the sign-in page and log in with your new credentials

Alternatively, you may access Oxford Abstracts using your Google or LinkedIn sign-in (you will receive an authentication link or code to verify the account).

Handouts will be accessible closer to the conference and can be downloaded from the above program.

Please note: the times in the program are already in the local time zone, so please be sure to keep that time zone when the pop-up window appears

We are honored to welcome a distinguished lineup of keynote speakers who bring diverse global perspectives to this year’s conference. Join us for thought-provoking presentations from leaders in family nursing, global health, and clinical psychology:

  • Minette Coetzee, PhD, RN – A globally recognized advocate for children’s health and nursing leadership.
  • Sakiko Kanbara, PhD – Professor at Kobe City College of Nursing, specializing in disaster nursing and community resilience.
  • Bep Uink, BPsych(Hons.), Master of Applied Psychology (Clinical) – A Professor at Edith Cowan University whose research focuses on mental health and wellbeing in Indigenous youth.

These visionary presenters will share insights that challenge, inspire, and deepen our collective understanding of family nursing in a changing world. You won’t want to miss their sessions!
