Family Nursing Cultural Exchange: Family Care of Aging Family Members in the Community in Japan and the U.S.
This workshop will be facilitated September - November viewing on-demand sessions and joining live small group interactive sessions.
Would you like to learn about innovations in health care systems and clinical practices with families who care for aging family members in the community in the U.S. and Japan? Please join us for a free online workshop presented by Japanese and the U.S. experts in aging and health sciences research who will present talks with the following learning objectives:
Workshop activities include two 2-hour, pre-recorded, on-demand lectures addressing the above learning objectives. Each lecture is followed by a 1-hour interactive seminar (via Zoom) for small groups of participants from around the world. Aims of the interactive groups are to engage participants in guided discussions to describe their clinical/educational work roles and settings, engage in cultural exchange and exploration of approaches to care of older adults, and identify actionable features of the cross-cultural learning for work settings.
All activities will be accessible on the IFNA website. Lectures will be delivered in English with Japanese and English transcripts available. Small group discussions will be conducted via Zoom in English and Japanese with bilingual facilitation by members of the International Exchange Committee of the Japanese Association for Research in Family Nursing (JARFN).
Participants will have access to an Electronic Briefcase following the conclusion of the workshop containing recordings of the expert lectures, a curricular guideline for dissemination via nursing education, and a resource guide.
This workshop is sponsored by the International Family Nursing Foundation in co-operation with the Japanese Association for Research in Family Nursing. The workshop is supported by a grant from the Japan Foundation Center for Global Partnership.
